The Farm

The agricultural sector in Cameroon faces significant productivity challenges. Despite employing around 70% of the workforce, the country is unable to produce enough food for its people due to ongoing problems such as substantial post-harvest losses, weak market connections, and limited knowledge, among other factors.

In response to these issues, we have chosen to not only source crops from smallholder farmers but also produce our own raw materials. We are committed to maximizing our productivity by incorporating advanced equipment like tractors, drones, and precision agriculture software. This approach not only guarantees a steady supply of feedstock for our factory but also enables us to share our learnings with the smallholder farmers we collaborate with.

Cassava: White Gold

Cassava, originating from South America, is one of the world’s main root crops and constitutes the most important staple of rural and urban households in Sub-Saharan Africa. The tuberous root and its products feed more than 500 million African households. The importance of cassava as a staple food results from:

  • The simplicity of its cultivation
  • Its ability to grow on marginal lands that are difficult to use for other crops
  • Its drought tolerance, which justifies its geographical expansion from its natural forest areas to the Sahelian zones
  • At the level of subsistence agriculture, the root can be left in the ground and harvested piece meal, thus allowing a spread management of its food use.

These advantages have helped cassava gain ground as an insurance crop against hunger and climate change and consequently constitutes an essential component of food security for African populations.

Our Factory

Our initial factory will focus on processing cassava harvested from our farm and sourced from smallholder farmers, converting it into cassava flour and cassava peel animal feed. By processing everything locally, we can minimize post-harvest losses and capture the added value. Our objective is to create top-quality products that can satisfy both local and international market demands.

Production of our cassava flour brand (YAKÉVA) has begun since September 2023.

Penja Pepper: The Best Pepper in the World

Penja Pepper is grown in the Littoral and South-West region of Cameroon, within its defined geographical area. The characteristics of the soil and the microclimate of the production area, as well as its organoleptic qualities and traditional production methods, make this product an exceptional pepper.

In 2014, it was the first product from the African continent to gain Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) status. A well-deserved recognition for this precious pepper. Highly appreciated in Cameroon as well as internationally for its food qualities, the “Poivre de Penja” label has been a global reference for several years. Great chefs place Penja pepper among the best peppers in the world

Penja pepper comes in G1, G2, and G3 grades. We export G1 grade white and black Penja Pepper worldwide.

Penja Pepper distribution reinforces our commitment to delivering only the best of Africa’s agricultural produce to the global market and adding value to the Cameroonian economy.
